Joint Alumni (Geology and NCC) Meet Report

The Department of Geology and NCC jointly organized an Alumni Meet on Saturday 07th August 2021 at 11.30 a.m. The Alumni meet was organized to reconnect with the Alumni and celebrate their success and various achievements.

●        Eleven (11) Alumni students of Geology were present on this occasion.

●        Twelve (12) Alumni students of National cadet Corp (NCC) were present on this occasion.

●        Dr. Sajid Hundekar (HOD, Geology Department and Ex NCC Officer), Mr. Irfan J. Shaikh (Associate Professor), Mr. Mohammad Ali Bangi (Assistant Professor) along with Dr. M. R. G. Sayyed (former HOD, Geology Department) and Sub.Lt.(Dr) Shakir Shaikh (College NCC Officer) were present on this occasion.

 

Dr. Sajid Hundekar gave the welcome speech and explained the objectives of organizing these Alumni meet.

●        The Alumni expressed their Joy and Happiness to be a part of this event.

●        They felt happy on seeing the college again after so many years.

●        They shared their experience when they were in the College and how the Teachers and the Authorities of this college had helped them in equipping them with knowledge and ability to succeed in life.

●        They also shared their present employment details and expressed their willingness for helping the upcoming students and college in particular in future.

●        All these Alumni students were facilitated at the hands of former Dr. M. R. G. Sayyed (former HOD, Geology Department).

●        Mr. Mr. Irfan J. Shaikh (Associate Professor, Geology Department) addressed these Alumni Students and urged them to actively be associated with the Department and the College in its future endeavors.

 

Dr. Shakir Shaikh (College NCC Officer) proposed the Vote of Thanks to the Management and Principal of AKI’ Poona College of Arts, Science & Commerce and the Alumni students.

Department Activity Report 2019-2020

Activities under taken during the Academic year 2019-2020 Activity 1 -“Disaster Management in India” Certificate Course Report- 2019 The Department of Geology had organized a 30 hours certificate course on “ Disaster Management in India” and it was successfully conducted in the Geology Laboratory. Dr. Sajid Hundekar was the coordinator of the certificate course. Dr Sajid Hundekar along with Mr. Irfan Shaikh, Mr. Mohammad Ali Bangi and Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat had drafted the course for total 30 hrs. (Theory and Practicals).The team has successfully tied up with PMC Fire Brigade Station, Lohianagar, Pune and Dial 101 Emergency Ambulance service for their assistance in conducting theory and practical sessions. Both the organizations had sent their representatives to conduct the sessions in college premises and their premises in Lohianagar. Dates: 16 th July 2019 to 16 th August 2019 No. of Students Participated : FY, SY and TY B.Sc. (Geology)- 51 Beneficiaries
