Activities under taken during the Academic year 2019-2020

• Activity 1 -“Disaster Management in India” Certificate Course Report- 2019

  The Department of Geology had organized a 30 hours certificate course on ^“Disaster Management in India” and it was successfully conducted in the Geology Laboratory. Dr. Sajid Hundekar was the coordinator of the certificate course.

  Dr Sajid Hundekar along with Mr. Irfan Shaikh, Mr. Mohammad Ali Bangi and Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat had drafted the course for total 30 hrs. (Theory and Practicals).The team has successfully tied up with PMC Fire Brigade Station, Lohianagar, Pune and Dial 101 Emergency Ambulance service for their assistance in conducting theory and practical sessions. Both the organizations had sent their representatives to conduct the sessions in college premises and their premises in Lohianagar.

• Activity 2  - A Guest cum Guidance lecturer on  “Role of Geologist in Geotechnical Industry”

  Objective for conducting the Activity: To have awareness of scope of Geology highlighting on Geotechnical  Industry

• Activity 3 - T.Y.B.Sc Tour visit -Department of Geology had organized a T.Y.B.Sc Geological Study Tour to places in and around Bhuj (Kutch region of Gujarat) between 6^th  January 2020 and 16^th  January 2020 as a part fulfillment of the syllabus laid down by the Savitribai Phule Pune University. Mr. Mohsin Shaikh, (Assistant Professor) was the tour incharge and accompanied by 09 T.Y.B.Sc Geology students.

1.      Two T.Y.B.Sc Geology students, Participated and secured Second Rank in Rock collection at Tectonia, Nowrojee Wadia College, Pune on 22^nd and 23^rd January 2020.

• Activity 4 –A guidance talk on “Indian and Abroad Scholarship” organized by PC Competitive Academy

  Date: 27^th January 2020    Venue: Geolab, Geology Department

  No of Students Participated: FY, SY and TY B.Sc. (Geology) - 43.

   Objective for conducting the Activity: Awareness of various National and International   Scholarships for UG and PG higher studies.

   Dr. Sajid Hundekar, Associate Professor, Department of Geology, dynamically delivered the   guidance talk on “Indian and Abroad Scholarship”.

• Activity 5: A one day F.Y.B.Sc, S.Y.B.Sc. and T.Y.B.Sc Geology Excursion Tour was conducted on Tuesday 04^th February 2020 in and around Nighoj and Vadgaon Darya, Shirur Taluka. Dr. Sajid Hundekar (S.Y.B.Sc Tour Incharge) and Mr. Irfan Shaikh (F.Y.B.Sc Tour Incharge) accompanied by the teaching staff Mr. Mohsin Shaikh, Mr. Mohammad Ali Bangi, Mrs. Shaheen Shaikh (Lab Assistant) Mr. Saeed Shaikh (Peon) and Mr. Gafoor Shaikh (Peon).
